Title: ORC/OZARES Members Disaster Prep
Post by: KA9PZG on April 21, 2015, 02:52:31 PM
On 4/18/15, a number of ORC/Ozares members were involved in a disaster drill with Ozaukee County Emergency Management, other local agencies and National Guard on April 18th.  Headquarters was stationed in Firemen's Park, Cedarburg with members of our group in various areas of the county.  It was a great opportunity for the agencies to see our hams in action, and word is many were impressed on our skills to get information from one place to the next where other means failed.  Thanks to members Don Zank, AA9WP; Art Davidson, AC9CD; Tom Nawrot, AA9XK; Skip Douglas, KA9DDN and Cindy Douglas, KA9PZG for your willingness to help and show how well ham radio works in times of disaster!!

You know, I drove by there and saw that setup.    I figured it was local military, as it looked
like camouflage, big tents, and military type of vehicles.     Guess I should have known it was
more than that.    We can never be too prepared.

Thanks to you and all the members that are apart of OZARES!
