NRA Birthday Special Event November 17, 2018

The Yavapai Amateur Radio Club (YARC) of Prescott, AZ, is planning to
operate a special event station November 17, 2018, in celebration of the NRA’s 147th birthday. 
The special event station will operate from Gunsite Academy’s 2,000-acre campus
 in Paulden, AZ, north of Prescott.
 
The special event call sign will be K7NRA.
Operations will be conducted on the following frequencies:
7.040, 7.250,
14.040, 14.250,
21.040, 21.335 MHz.

The hours of operation will be from 1500 to 2400 UTC.
KL7R will again be operating a satellite station.

Due to logistics and equipment availability issues, the CW operation
will take place between 1800 and 2400 UTC.

All amateur stations, especially those operated by NRA members and Gunsite alumni,
are urged to participate. A special certificate will be awarded to those stations making
contact during the event.

Event Parking - Elks Lodge @ 5555 W Good Hope Rd.
Please park in the back of the lodge. Free Shuttle Service to and from the lodge and HRO.

Posted after the fact, sorry.

The LeFrog club participated in this event using their club call W9FRG.
We activated Kettle Moraine - Lapham Peak State Forest  (LPSF).
Had lots of fun....a few mosquitoes.
Plan to do it next year, and probably make some changes to our setup and antennas.
Wasn't able to contact as many WI parks as we would have liked.

is designed to promote public awareness of ham radio within Wisconsin’s
beautiful state park system.
 
The objective of  WIPOTA  is to have competing stations operate from as many
Wisconsin parks as possible and work hams in other WI parks, as well as hams
not located in a park in any state, province or country."

Will be the third Saturday in September.   

Next year is Saturday, September 21, 2019.
