28th Annual TREK 100 Ride for Hope
Saturday June 3, 2017

So far, I have not received information about the amateur radio volunteers that help out.

Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre is supposed to be riding it this year!

Website: www.trek100.org/index.html

From their website:
Join "over 2,000 riders in the 28th Annual TREK 100 Ride for Hope. This great Ride benefits the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc.) which is a great charity dedicated to helping children battling cancer and blood disorders like aplastic anemia and sickle cell. The TREK 100 is the largest annual fund-raiser in the 40 year history of the MACC Fund. It has helped raise almost $14 million in net proceeds since 1990. Trek Bicycle Corp. of
Waterloo, WI is synonymous with excellence in cycling and the MACC Fund is synonymous with supporting excellence in childhood cancer and blood disorder research. Ironically both Trek and the MACC Fund started in 1976 and they have been linked to helping children for nearly three decades."

"The MACC Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation which supports research in Wisconsin in the
MACC Fund Center at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, the MACC Fund Research Center of the Medical College of Wisconsin and in the MACC Fund Childhood Cancer Research Wing at the University of Wisconsin’s Carbone Cancer Center. "

Looks like the Cedarburg High School Robotics Club will be providing the food this year.

Consider a donation to their club, as they are always looking for stuff to help build their robots.
Here is their website:   http://cedarburgrobotics.com/

And if you want to donate or help out:  http://cedarburgrobotics.com/help-us-get-involved

See you at the Spring Swapfest!!

Up, up, and away....( okay, sing that song to yourself....if you remember it )
This is regarding the next Wisconsin High Altitude Balloon Launch # 5

Tom KC9ONY
****************************************************************************************
From Joe N9UX: (with some editing by me, KC9ONY)

We are on track for launch #5, this Saturday March 11. We're watching the weather closely, and will send out another email if we need to postpone.

Setup begins about 8AM.

Launch location:
 (same as last time)

North Park, Allison Park Drive, Richland Center, WI 53581

GPS: 43.347298, -90.388291

Launch and chase will be streamed live on Facebook video again, on the Wisconsin HAB page.

APRS will be beaconing N9UX-11 with the balloon icon. If you want to filter on on the N9UX-11 packets only, you can use a decode PL of 103.5. If you want to share a link to aprs.fi:
http://aprs.fi/#!mt=roadmap&z= 11&call=a%2FN9UX-11&timerange= 3600&tail=3600

Foxhunt voice beacon will be on 146.430 FM, with the recorded message.

Signal reports from APRS or the voice beacon can be sent to wisconsin.hab@gmail.com. Please include time and your location on the report.

Chase net plan should be familiar, it will be on the FM38 repeater (check their site for all the frequencies, they have a new site in Madison which should help us out!)   http://www.fm38.org/HomePage
